The only way to build muscle with calisthenics is to overload your muscles. When you put it like that there’s several ways to build muscles with calisthenics but the major key is to progressively overload your muscles. Building muscle with calisthenics becomes difficult when you’ve done all the variations you can come up with. The volume overload with your body weight just won’t cut it. Now you’ll need to do resistance overload. I love calisthenics! Through trial and error through my own journey I’ve found that the main way to gain muscle doing calisthenics is first creating a volume overload, incorporate new variations and then increasing resistance.
